AutoSave

Jotz tries to retain as many of the benefits of a paper notepad as possible.

As notepads rarely stick Save dialogs in your face, Jotz doesn't either.

Each Jotz Pad periodically checks to see if it has been changed recently, and does a background Save operation if it has. You can watch this process by typing into the text area of a Pad and watching the red Close button on the Pad window. The Close button will show "clean" before you type:

and then change to "dirty"...

And then, after a few seconds, back to "clean".

The autosave process is suspended while you are editing the note name, because you are also editing the filename.

The autosave process is also suspended while you are actively typing into the Pad to avoid annoying high-speed typists with the pauses caused by the save process.
